1.while所引導出的附屬子句常用進行式（be動詞＋V-ing）。

While Jack was lying on the bed, his parents came in.
（當傑克正躺在床上時，他的父母走進來。）

2.when / while若連接兩個未來式的句子，附屬子句要使用現在簡單式代替未來式。

When school begins, I will use my free time better.
（我開學後會更善用空閒時間。）

3.after / before若連接兩個未來式的句子，附屬子句要使用現在簡單式代替未來式。

I will tell Mike the fact after he finds it out.
（我會在麥克發現之後告訴他事實。）

4.since（自從），必須接過去的某個時間點或子句並搭配現在完成式使用。

5.as soon as（一…就…）連接兩個幾乎同時發生的動作，而若連接兩個未來式的句子時，附屬子句用現在簡單式代替未來式。

I’ll tell Susan to give you a call as soon as I see her.
（我一見到蘇珊就會叫她打電話給你。）

1.若前後主詞為同一人時，in order to / so as to V可以簡化成為to V，（in order）to V還可以放在句首表示強調。

He got up early so that / in order that he could catch the first train.
＝He got up early (in order) to catch the first train.
＝(In order)to catch the first train, he got up early.

2.否定式為in order not to V或so as not to V（以免）

He came in quietly in order not to wake his wife up.
（他安靜地進來以免吵醒他的太太。）
